Built, not assembled

The synthesis engine, and the thinking behind it.

Beats for Brains grew out of a simple frustration: entrainment audio is usually either clinical and joyless, or musical but imprecise. We wanted both — signal-accurate stimulation and music you'd choose to hear anyway.

So we built the whole instrument ourselves. The engine behind this site is an original synthesis system developed from first principles in Australia: every oscillator, filter, reverb and mastering stage is our own code. No loops, no sample packs, no borrowed presets. When it renders your session, it composes the music live — chord movements, arps, pads, percussion — and weaves the entrainment layers through the arrangement at exactly the frequencies you chose.

What "rendered for you" really means

Your order is a specification, not a shopping-cart item. The engine reads your goal, bed, length and layer choices, derives a unique session for your order, renders it as 24-bit / 48 kHz audio in two full passes, measures loudness to broadcast standards, and masters to the profile you picked. Then the file is delivered to you and the render queue moves on. We keep your order's settings on file, so your session can be restored if a link ever lapses.

What we promise — and what we don't

We promise precise engineering: exact stimulation frequencies, clean stereo behaviour, honest loudness, lossless delivery. We don't promise medical outcomes, and we never will — entrainment research is active and individual responses vary. Our testimonials, when they appear, will be real. Our science page reading list will cite sources, not sell dreams.

The fine print, humanly

One-off pricing, no accounts, no subscription. Files are yours for personal use, forever. If something's off, we re-render or make it right. Questions? We answer email personally.
